The vision for the Samoa Tourism Sector Plan 2014 - 2019 is 'By 2019 Samoa will have a growing tourism sector, which engages our visitors and people and is recognised as the leading Pacific destination for sustainable tourism'.
The Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) now needs your IT skills and experience from the tourism sector to prepare them for the growing tourism industry.
This assignment will focus on reviewing current technologies available (e.g. booking engines and corporate websites) and explore a viable system for the host organisation. You will support the implementation of the selected IT technology for digital marketing and online bookings and provide training to STA staff and key stakeholders. Additionally, you will also consult and liaise with industry members and key stakeholders to review industry pricing and identify options for lowering costs. Training and mentoring of staff IT skills will also be a focus of your role.
This assignment with Samoa Tourism Authority will increase staff capacity to manage the increase of tourism in the country and support the priority of the Government of Samoa to promote sustainable tourism for economic and social development.
