Tradition, technology and trade: Women in Business Development Inc. (WIBDI) facilitates sustainable incomes for village economies. As a Business Development Advisor, your insight will be vital in consolidating their fantastic work on the Pacific Leadership Project (PLP) and future growth.
WIBDI has pioneered and driven organics in the Pacific Islands, with 187 participating villages, and has proven it can attract and supply quality and quantity to global companies. WIBDI’s core funding for the PLP is being phased out over three years with the intention to self-fund from the third year onwards. WIBDI is now in the second year of this plan. Through recent preparations to become a social enterprise, WIBDI realised further guidance is needed to plan production volumes to meet demand, as well as sustain production outputs, in order to achieve self-sustainability.
With staff, you will be developing a production system to support the three year funding phase-out plan. This will involve creating a template for farmers to use to plan cycles for planting, harvesting and processing to ensure consistent and continuous supplies. You will also train WIBDI staff to adopt a business management approach while retaining a strong agricultural commitment.
Your insight will enable WIBDI to realise their sustainable production ambition and continue to empower rural families.
