|Proposed Start Date||October 2017|
|Assignment Location||Rattanakiri, Cambodia|
Come work in the rural rugged province of Rattanakiri to advance the lives of vulnerable indigenous communities.
Human and Health (H&H) is a small local Non Government Organisation (NGO), which works to improve health conditions amongst indigenous communities in the remote North East Provinces of Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri. H&H has been working to create a tuberculosis free Cambodia in Rakanakiri for the last 10 years. In 2017 H&H continues its work on the STOP TB project and since January has secured 4 years of funding with a partner organisation - Indigenous Community Support Organisation (ICSO), and is looking to implement the Nutrition WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) project. The project was created with the assistance of the previous AVID volunteer, and is funded by the Federal German Government BMZ. This is both an exciting and challenging endeavor for H&H who is a low resource NGO.
The Nutrition/ WASH Technical Advisor will work closely with the Project Team (Program Manager and Team Leaders) to review project activities, project compliance and the project management tools. You will provide support on technical knowledge, English language and report writing with the aim to build staff capacity and assist effective/efficient project implementation.
This project will ultimately result in lowering malnutrition amongst the most vulnerable including children, pregnant and lactating women through facilitating better access to nutritious meals and promoting hygienic sanitation practices. Specifically, it will reduce the prevalence of GI-infections, stunting in children under the age of five year and improve access to clean water.
