Here is a newly created volunteer opportunity that will see you take your expertise in Geospatial Science to a global tourist destination!
People in Need (PIN), is an international Non-Governmental Organisation. People in Need, Cambodia has been in operation since 2008 providing development and emergency assistance in rural and urban areas. It specifically focuses on: renewable energy, market development for improved livelihoods, improvement of maternal and child health and nutrition and disaster risk reduction. PIN in Cambodia uses its expertise in spatial planning, disaster management, health and alternative livelihood development, to assist communities to reap the benefits of economic growth while safeguarding their rights.
As Geospatial Developer you will work closely with PIN’s expanding Technology for Development team to deliver unique and innovative spatial services within their varied projects. You will increase the overall capacity of PIN’s technology team in Cambodia and also improve the skillset of the tenure team in processing UAV imagery and developing aerial imagery. You will be expected to work across multiple departments, as PIN expects to benefit from your expertise across multiple projects and programs.
This assignment will result in rural communities being better prepared for disasters, and have improved access to early warning messages, that will help minimise the effects of natural disasters. Also, this assignment will aid in improving access to markets and visual data sets relating to rural activity in these areas, that will serve to improve overall agricultural outputs.
Applications for this assignment are no longer open.
