Assignment Summary
Create a buzz in Cambodia with your skills in bee keeping and agri-business, while enjoying life in the remote province of Battambang.

VSG’s current target groups face a loss and deterioration of natural bee species due to inappropriate and outdated bee harvesting techniques, low knowledge of local people and forests subjected to deforestation. Local people traditionally believe that bees are vital to a good ecosystem that  supports breeding and productive crops. The aim of this project is to have a fully performing organic beekeeping function that will improve the living conditions of Cambodian communities. The intention is to capacity build with support from VSG’s management team and work directly with the project officers.

The Project Management Officer will work on a three-year project with Lives Improvement through Feed the Ecosystem (LIFE) on Organic Beekeeping in Battambang province. You will build the technical capacity of Organic Beekeeping, the Agri-business of honey and to develop a work plan on the process of beekeeping in a few model communities. The VSG team leads the development of the beekeeping management plan and chart that identifies the approach towards achieving the indicators of project success. It is expected that the stakeholders will be able to use these tools to improve their project management capacity in collaboration with you.

Your time with VSG will improve their project management capacity in organic beekeeping, particularly with the Community led project – LIFE. Your strategic input will contribute to measuring the five-year strategic plan including knowledge sharing with other VSG projects and networks.
