|Proposed Start Date||August 2017|
|Assignment Location||Suva, Fiji|
Are you able to provide a listening ear, warm heart and welcoming hand to women facing domestic violence? The house of Sarah is on the lookout for a Counsellor/Social Worker.
The HoS is a faith-based civil society organisation offering counselling and referral outreach services for victims/survivors of violence against women and also a training programme to equip clergy and lay persons (women, youths and men) to understand about violence against women, interpretations of Biblical texts in relation to human rights, gender equality and to gain practical skills and knowledge to provide front line or first response and referral services to victims/survivors.
Your role will involve strengthening standards for existing faith based basic counselling approaches, creating a referral system and mapping out other service providers in the same filed. The proposed assignment builds on from a previous AVID role which supported the establishment of HoS as an NGO in 2012.
Your role will help improve counselling service standards and will help all staff operate within those standards. It will also lead to an increase in community access to counselling services provided by trained dauveivukei and Sarah Carers with the skills and resources to assist domestic violence victims/survivors at a local level.
