Passionate about disaster risk reduction and keen to be instrumental in the development of new disaster risk reduction practices that will directly impact Mongolia communities? Then this is your chance to join the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as Disaster Risk Reduction Program Officer and make a real difference.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is responsible for disaster prevention, rescue, response and recovery in Mongolia. NEMA implements disaster protection through partnership with other government agencies, the general population, nongovernmental organisations, private sectors and international organisations.
As Disaster Risk Reduction Program Officer you will work within the newly established Disaster Risk Management Department of NEMA. You will be responsible for improving the department’s capacity in its four priority areas: risk assessment across Mongolia; establishing newly formed national and local platforms for disaster risk reduction; developing disaster risk insurance within Mongolia; and supporting disaster risk information and databases. In addition, you will be involved in preparations and implementation of the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
Your role in building NEMA’s organisational and staff capacity in disaster risk reduction will directly contribute to reducing the likelihood and severity of disasters and the resulting impact they have on Mongolian communities.
