Assignment Summary
Take your English language training skills to Mongolia and experience life and work in the small provincial capital of South Gobi province, while making a contribution to improving the employment opportunities for Mongolian students by improving the quality of the training they receive.

The Umnugobi Polytechnic College is a governmental technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institute. The college aims to provide students with technical skills to improve their employment opportunities. The school has received support from a nearby mining company, which funded the construction of dormitories and workshops, including modern equipment. An English Teacher Trainer is needed to build staff skills and capacity to support future growth of the college and opportunities for students.

Your role will focus on training English teachers on how to deliver effective lessons on new competency-based curricula and materials, providing day-to-day advice to teachers on the preparation and implementation of English curriculum, as well as providing basic English language training for staff. You will also support partnerships between the college, private sector and Australian TAFE institutes through student internships. Your position plays a pivotal role between funding and projects implemented in partnership with DFAT and the growing Mongolian mining industry focused in South Gobi.

Through your role, you will be directly contributing to the improvement and availability of English skills in the community, which is an essential precondition for the economic development of Mongolia.
