Assignment Summary
Help promote quality and sustainable development in all aspects of Education, Sports and Culture to ensure improved opportunities for all! Come and join The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MESC) and work in a cluster team of three in Inclusive Education.

Come and work for The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MESC) who makes certain that education will be the key to the development of productive citizens who will increase the growth of Samoa’s economy in the future. Reaching all children with disabilities and enrolling them in appropriate education remains a challenge.

Through placing volunteers in five pilot schools, the volunteers will work with the school principals to ensure they understand MESC’s Inclusive Education (IE) policy and implications for their schools, identify the changes that need to be made to ensure compliance, implement the changes and review any adjustments to be made before the policy can be rolled out to the rest of the schools in Samoa. By locating the volunteer assignments within these pilot schools the volunteers will also be able to interact with the parent communities and pick up on the realities and challenges faced by limited resources.

The assignment objectives will contribute to strengthening MESC’s ability to improve educational support for children with disabilities and contribute to the empowerment of all children with disabilities in Samoa.
