‘To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education’. Help make the Philippines’ Department of Education mission a reality for the students at Rawis Elementary School Special Education Centre.
The Special Education Centre (SPED) was established in 1987 and its 20 teachers offer programs ranging from elementary and pre-school education to early intervention and transition programs.
Your role will focus on increasing staff capacity in conducting cognitive, physical, sensory and motor skills assessments for students with a disability, building the Centre’s capacity to develop Occupational Therapy based programs, plans and interventions, and increasing the knowledge and skills of both staff and parents in Occupational Therapy practices.
Your role will have a direct impact on Rawis Elementary staff, students and parents, and will allow children with special needs to have access to better quality education in their local community.
Please note that this assignment is for a June mobilisation due to the start of the school year in the Philippines.
