Are you an Occupational Therapist looking to take your skills abroad? Look no further!
The Tonga Social Services Project began in September 2012 with two modules; the Aged Care Program and the Early Intervention Program (EIP). EIP is the Government’s second social service pilot program and Ma’a Fafine mo e Famili (MFF) are pleased to be part of it. The EIP’s goal and purpose is for every child living in Tonga with a disability to have the privilege of enjoying quality rehabilitative services and the opportunity to contribute to the wider community. Promoting their rights through the services that EIP provides is not only about providing disability-related services, but also about adopting measures to change attitudes and behaviours that stigmatise and marginalise children with disabilities.
EIP’s operations will be successfully implemented with the assistance of an Occupational Therapist Trainer. Your role will focus on increasing staff capacity in fulfilling successful home visits, strengthening staff’s occupational therapy skills, and improving tailored programs aimed at addressing each child’s unique needs.
Your role will directly contribute to an increased understanding and awareness amongst caregivers, and will greatly assist staff to conduct their services professionally throughout the community.
