Assignment Summary

Do you have the skills to provide relevant business and financial literacy trainings, secure project funding, advocate for the interest of private sector organisations and provide technical support when required? Then we have the assignment for you! Come and work for the Tuvalu National Private Sector Organisation (TNPSO), Business Centre and the Trade Office to assist in developing the private sector and increasing employment opportunities for the people of Tuvalu.

TNPSO is a non-government organisation that supports the private sector in Tuvalu. There are over 300 business enterprises in Tuvalu. However, only around fifty business operators are registered with the organisation. In consultation with the three organizations and in line with the Trade Policy, the Fisheries, Agriculture and Tourism sectors have been identified to have potentials for sustainable growth. These sectors can also become the backbone of the economy. Given proper support, these 3 sectors can provide economic opportunities to outer islands, women and youths.

This assignment will undertake a capacity assessment of all business enterprises engaged in these sectors, design a training development plan and deliver appropriate trainings in business management and development. You will work to support diversification of products and assist in securing local, regional and international markets. You will also work to strengthen the linkages and networking between the three organizations to enable a coordinated approach to supporting the private sector in Tuvalu.

This assignment aims to increase employment opportunities and increase standard of living for Tuvaluans.
